Sarah Mitchell
Sara Mitchell works in private practice in Sydney, Australia. Originally from the UK, where she studied psychology at both bachelor and masters levels, Sarah has practiced as a registered psychologist since 2014. Prior to this, she worked as a school counsellor, a behavioural clinician for children and adults with intellectual disabilities and challenging behaviour, and as a teacher for children with special needs.
Sarah works by integrating a number of different therapeutic approaches with a foundation firmly based in IFS therapy. She has attended many IFS trainings and acted as a program assistant, as well as attending regular supervision with highly experienced IFS practitioners. Sarah has training in Brainspotting, EMDR, Emotional Freedom Technique, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Interoceptive Awareness. Educational studies include Memory Reconsolidation, theory of emotions, and basic neuropsychology. Sarah has driven, curious and passionate parts that are on a constant quest to master different therapy approaches in order to be able to best work with each client’s unique brain and nervous system.
Sarah identifies as having a highly sensitive system and uses her abilities to sense into her client’s state and developed a way of working that combines IFS and externalization in the visual field. She delights in being able to apply creative and personalised treatments for ND and HS systems that work to heal and harmonise.
