Description

According to the 2020 Census, 20.6 million people in the U.S. identify as Asian, Native Hawaiian, or Pacific Islander, making up 6.2% of the nation's population. Within this growing population, it’s important to remember that the Asian diaspora is incredibly diverse, to include major differences in language, religion, immigration status, ethnicity, education, and socioeconomic status. Treating someone who identifies as part of this Asian diaspora can seem overwhelming at first, especially with the amount of cultural nuance one has to master. However, an integrative and holistic approach to treatment provides an equally adaptable parallel to the strengths of these clients. In this session, view Dr. Band on learning how to apply an intersectional and culturally responsive lens to treating a diverse range of presenting issues with Asian Pacific Islander Clients.
