Description

The demands of school, online social lives and daily pressures can be difficult for young people to navigate. Many young people today are anxious, in pain, angry and often feel hijacked by extreme emotional states that lead them to think and behave in ways that perpetuate their struggles. To make it through these complex years, young people require support to understand and regulate their emotions by developing a connection to their inner world. The Polyvagal Theory (PVT) can help young people to understand what is happening in their body on a biological level including how their nervous system shapes their behaviour and experiences. IFS then offers a non-shaming compassionate approach to help young people explore their hyper aroused and hypo aroused parts to increase awareness, connection, and an internal sense of safety. In this workshop you will discover practical ways to introduce and work with the PVT and IFS that is engaging and meaningful for youth. The workshop consists of creative, interactive and hands on training that can be utilised immediately to engage even your most difficult and challenging young people.
