Healthcare workers have had to face major difficulties and traumatic situations during the Covid-19 outbreak. The ability to cope with intense stress and anxiety has been crucial, especially for frontline healthcare workers. Somatic Experiencing® (SE®) is a trauma-focused approach that is effective in reducing traumatic and chronic stress and enhancing resilience. This session will discuss the results of a recent study on the effects of SE-based stabilization exercises with healthcare workers along with the presentation of ways that one healthcare system has utilized short-term SE-based stabilization techniques in their clinic.

- PESI Australia, in collaboration with PESI in the USA, offers quality online continuing professional development events from the leaders in the field at a standard recognized by professional associations including psychology, social work, occupational therapy, alcohol and drug professionals, counselling and psychotherapy. On completion of the training, a Professional Development Certificate is issued after the individual has answered and submitted a quiz and course evaluation. This online program is worth 1.25 hours CPD for points calculation by your association.
