Daphne Fatter, PhD, is a licensed
psychologist and Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapist. She is also certified in EMDR and is an
EMDRIA Approved EMDR consultant. Dr. Fatter is author of Integrating Internal Family Systems
(IFS)
into EMDR Therapy: The Step-By-Step Guide to Complex Trauma Recovery as well as of two book
chapters
on IFS including “Integrating IFS with EMDR” and “Integrating IFS with Ancestral Lineage Healing
(ALH)” in IFS Integration: A Comprehensive Guide to Applying Internal Family Systems Across
Modalities, Populations, and Clinical Presentations.
Dr. Fatter is also the creator of Self Tapping for Attachment Readiness and Repair (STARR ™), a hands-on practical therapeutic intervention to help integrate EMDR and IFS at specific places in each model. She is considered a thought leader in ways to integrate IFS with other modalities and provides continuing education and professional development on integrative trauma-informed therapies.
Dr. Fatter received her doctorate from the Pennsylvania State University and completed postdoctoral training at the Trauma Center, an affiliate of the Boston University School of Medicine, under the direct supervision Dr. Bessel van der Kolk, MD. She is the former military sexual trauma coordinator at the Fort Worth Veteran Affairs Outpatients Clinic. With nearly two decades of clinical experience, Dr. Fatter teaches mental health clinicians internationally, providing insights on nuances of trauma treatment in her areas of expertise including PTSD, complex trauma, combat trauma, and complicated grief.
