Description

Giving the young people you work with “inner resources” helps them to walk in their world with more resilience. Do you notice the young people you work with sometimes get overwhelmed or stuck in a particular ‘part’ of themselves? (e.g. sad, angry, depressed, anxious).

This session will explain a process that is simple to use and effectively enables you to show the young people you support, what their Big/Best SELF looks and feels like explicitly. When they have this insight, you can help them notice their bothered part which they can then pause and deliberately step into their Big/Best SELF. The Big/Best SELF has the capacity to be beside any bothered part in an externalising or dis-identifying process.

These practices are based on Parts Theory, Neuroscience and Focusing (Felt sensing) and are particularly helpful in helping young people (and maybe even yourself!) navigate life in healthier ways. Guiding young clients to know their Big/Best SELF will truly empower them to ‘Get bigger than whatever is bothering them.’
