Too often the primary focus of gender-affirmative care is the alleviation and resolution of gender dysphoria. But what if we could expand our clinical imagination and engage with clients in conversations that are more pleasure-positive? This session will challenge attendees to look beyond gender dysphoria and consider ways of helping clients increase a sense of pleasure with one's embodied experience of (a)gender. It will explore ways of increasing alignment with one's embodied sense of (a)gender, feeling affirmed in one's (a)gender within social, sexual, and/or intimate contexts, and feeling positive in one's body. It will also explore:
PESI Australia, in collaboration with PESI in the USA, offers quality online continuing professional development events from the leaders in the field at a standard recognized by professional associations including psychology, social work, occupational therapy, alcohol and drug professionals, counselling and psychotherapy. On completion of the training, a Professional Development Certificate is issued after the individual has answered and submitted a quiz and course evaluation. This program is worth 2.25 hours CPD for points calculation by your association.
