A complete framework for integrating the most powerful interventions in couples therapy

If you feel stuck, frustrated, or overwhelmed working with high-conflict couples, you’re not alone.

The intensity and unpredictability of helping a couple navigate years of hurt, betrayal, and resentment can leave even seasoned clinicians feeling like they’ve let these clients down.

But what if instead you knew exactly what strategies to use to guide a couple to healing and connection… so your clients could fall back in love?

That’s what this course will do for you.

Inside it, you’ll find the most valuable insights developed by brilliant therapists over the last 30-40 years such as John and Julie Gottman, Sue Johnson, Stan Tatkin and more – combined in a simple framework you can apply to get powerful, consistent results.

When you finish this course, you'll:
  • Recognize what’s really happening in a couple’s arguments
  • Know how to accurately assess and formulate what the couple need
  • Choose the most relevant interventions
  • Know when to intervene and when not to
  • Keep the couple connected and present
  • Do less and achieve more in your couple sessions

HOW IT WORKS
In this live online program, you’ll join a select cohort of dedicated therapists who want to advance their practice working with couples.

You’ll get 8 weeks of live online training starting February 6th. Live sessions will be held each Tuesday 9:00-11:30 for 2 hours of training, followed by a 30-minute Q&A.

You’ll also get lifetime access to each of the session recordings, for complete flexibility. If you need to miss a session, the recording will be waiting for you. And you’ll be able to review your training whenever you wish.

A message from your trainer:
When I first started doing couple therapy, it seemed like nothing worked consistently. I was confused and frustrated when an intervention that worked brilliantly with one couple completely failed another couple and I felt like I was letting my clients down.

Like many therapists I looked at multiple approaches – Imago Relationship Therapy, the Gottman Method, Sue Johnson’s Emotionally Focused Therapy, Developmental Method, Stan Tatkin's Psychobiological Approach PACT and more.

What I discovered is that no single approach works for all couples.

To get consistent progress, you must seamlessly integrate different methods to adapt to each couple’s unique needs.

With the clinical team at Relate we created Presence Oriented Relationship Therapy (PORT) – a proven framework that combines neuroscience and the best parts of each couple therapy method to give you an effective, adaptable approach to working with couples including high conflict couples experiencing betrayal.

PORT let me use all the different tools I had developed and I was able to work more effectively, easily and seamlessly with a far wider range of couples – My practice grew exponentially, and I started training and supervising other therapists in this new approach to relationship therapy.

With the skills you’ll learn in the course, you’ll be able to confidently work with any couple, because you have the most powerful interventions AND the flexibility to use them.
